PhD partnership & delivery contracts
Dr Flynn completed a PhD in applied machine learning and business transformation in partnership with Ford in 2022, and has since delivered multiple contracts with Ford providing AI solutions and digital transformation strategy across a wide range of business areas.

Forward deployed engineer & data analyst
Leads AI strategy in the UK, working with the vehicle engineering team to implement both internal and external AI tools tailored to the needs of each team. Works with universities on AI research and leads the company’s UK university collaboration strategy, while supporting multiple projects across the business.

Provides academic supervision of postgraduate AI and machine learning projects for LSE in a consulting capacity, drawing on his applied machine learning expertise to guide and support student research.

Sustenic

Sustenic is a housing and energy consultancy specialising in net zero, helping organisations understand their building stock through data collection, surveying, monitoring, management and analytics. Dr Flynn worked for roughly a year on the development of the mathematical models underpinning their tools, supporting the delivery of multiple workstreams and the eventual software now used by local councils to inform net zero strategy across housing stock.

Client
Delivered a funding exploration and horizon-scanning package (2024–2027) for an aerospace SME, mapping the funding landscape across the EU, UK, and USA — including schemes such as ATI, Horizon Europe, and UKRI — to identify relevant opportunities, timelines, and routes to funding. This work has since been developed into a repeatable, semi-automated approach now offered to other clients.
